Special VIP Commemorative Event Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Signing of the Civil Rights Act

As part of the 450th anniversary of the City of St. Augustine, the Saint Augustine Orchestra (SAO) will be hosting a special three part affair to commemorate the Civil Rights Act.  This special event includes a pre-concert party in the elegant Lightner Museum Lobby, VIP seating during the concert held in the Lightner Museum, and a post-concert reception in the beautiful 3rd floor Lightner Museum Ballroom.

The pre-concert party, PRELUDE, will include live music, an open bar of wine and beer, hour d’oeuvres, and an opportunity to meet Bob Moore, the SAO Composer-in-Residence.  Moore, who was commissioned to write a piece commemorating the Civil Rights movement, composed the orchestration Someday which will be premiered at this concert series by the St. Augustine Orchestra.

“Priceless” musical experiences chance drawing

To appeal to the true music dreamers and doers, the St. Augustine Orchestra is offering a drawing by chance for three very special “priceless” items: 1) the opportunity to guest conduct the orchestra during one piece at a future concert, 2) the luxury of total concert immersion for two people while sitting in the middle of a future orchestra performance of your choice and 3)the chance to  have a string quartet play at your own special event for up to 2 hours.  Tickets are $2 and are available at all three concerts.  The drawing will be held at the end of the Sunday, March 2nd concert but you do not have to be present to win.

Concert patrons have three performances to choose from:

Friday, February 28 and Saturday, March 1, 2014 will be held in the Lightner Museum, 25 Granada Street, St. Augustine, FL at 8:00 p.m.

Sunday, March 2 will be held at the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, 1050 A1A North, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL at 3:00 p.m.

The cost for each performance is $20 for adults and $5.00 for students with ID and children.  Tickets are available online  or at the door if the event is not sold out.
